Rum, Coat, and Other Effects - Site Information

domain

Jack Sparrow had his hat an' his gun; I've got rum an' a coat. An' a problem with pirates. An' no, I don' want a twelve-step program for that.

RaC.net was registered on February 17, 2004. It was preceeded by the original-content site Darkwelle.com, which ran for two years and had 893 visitors before going on hiatus, and the fan site Mako Tears, which ran for two-and-a-half. The two were combined to produce RaC.net, and the counter from DW.com moved as-is. As with my previous domains, the name was taken from role-play; but selected with the intent of being more personally-oriented and more original than either of the merged sites, both having been based at least in part on the creations of others.

layout

Version Three-point-Two continues to feature Shadi, the shadow-walking Sabhakhi pirate. The black-and-white lineart was donated by K of Stained Glass Designs, with colour later added in Photoshop by Scarlet. Both the original and its modified variations can be found in the Sketchy Details art gallery on this site.

V.3 makes use of cascading style sheets, light JavaScripting, and many, many tables, and was put together in Paint Shop. The occasional lack of capital letters is an aesthetic choice - I do know how to use them; really I do.
